AMEX Serve: Nav Redesign

The navigation pattern on Serve’s responsive site had to be restructured to accommodate new features. The first step was identifying Mental Models that would lead to better organization.

Once the mental models were validated, the team moved into detailed design and rapid prototyping to test the new navigation pattern.

What I learned:
Progressive enhancement is key when designing for a wide range of devices and breakpoints. Many Serve users don’t have smart phones, so we had to start with basic devices and work from there. Finding a design that performs for everyone in the growing mobile landscape was a staggering challenge.
